Keller Elementary School is looking for an Assistant principal to join its administrative team and work with the Principal, Assistant Principal, Team Chair, Teachers, Related Service Providers, Educational Support Professionals, Curriculum Specialists, Title I Teacher, and EL Teacher to enhance the success of all students.
Some responsibilities will include: - Develops and maintain strong relationships with students and parents/guardians/caregivers- Investigates and takes next steps related to disciplinary matters for identified students in accordance with due process- Provides leadership in selecting, assigning, and evaluating specialized staff- Assists in coordination of curriculum development and implementation with an emphasis on MTSS- Works to further develop a MTSS with an emphasis on Tiers 2 and 3- Develops and maintain schedules that meet students needs and IEP service delivery requirements- Supports the principal and directors of student services in further developing specialized programs- Supervises referrals for and implementation of 504 Plans- Plans and delivers in-service training - Maintains community relationships with appropriate organizations and agencies- Completes all reports required by the District and Department of Elementary and Secondary Education - Attends meetings/special events as deemed necessary by the principal- Assumes responsibility for their own professional growth and development - Bachelors Degree-Experience in special education-Appropriate MA DESE licensure-SEI Endorsement-Demonstrated knowledge of Federal and State special education regulations and legal issues in special education-Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and possess a high level of capability with technology-Well-developed understanding of the subject matter and the pedagogy required to effectively teach the content area-Ability to collaborate with all faculty & staffThis position is the school year plus 15 days.
